{"id":3535,"date":"2026-06-16T15:06:05","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:06:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandiegocomicconmalaga.com\/san-diego-comic-con-malaga-opens-the-duna-program-to-andalusian-companies\/"},"modified":"2026-06-17T09:18:48","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T08:18:48","slug":"san-diego-comic-con-malaga-opens-the-duna-program-to-andalusian-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandiegocomicconmalaga.com\/en\/san-diego-comic-con-malaga-opens-the-duna-program-to-andalusian-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"San Diego Comic-Con\u00ae M\u00e1laga Opens the DUNA Program to Andalusian Companies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The application form will be open until Tuesday, July 28<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Developing Universal Narratives from Andalusia (DUNA<\/em><\/strong><strong>)<\/strong> <strong>is an initiative that will bring together local audiovisual and tourism SMEs with top-tier production companies in person<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Any<\/strong><strong>They are among the first professionals whose participation has been confirmed<\/strong><strong>His name is Pedro \u201cTate\u201d Arr\u00e1ez (<\/strong><strong><em>Game of Thrones<\/em><\/strong><strong>), \u00c1lvaro Iglesi<\/strong><strong>as (<\/strong><strong><em>Heartstopper<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>)<\/em><\/strong><strong>, Juan Jim\u00e9nez (<\/strong><strong><em>Kingdom of Heaven)<\/em><\/strong><strong>,  <\/strong><strong>Rafael L\u00f3pez Manzanara <\/strong><strong>(<\/strong><strong><em>La Casa de Papel)<\/em><\/strong><strong> and Dani Ojeda (<\/strong><strong><em>Adidas, Budweiser)<\/em><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>M\u00c1LAGA<\/strong>, <strong>June 16, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegocomicconmalaga.com\/en\/application-form-duna\/\">The application form<\/a> is now open for Andalusian SMEs interested in taking part in <strong><em>Developing Universal Narratives from Andalusia (DUNA)<\/em><\/strong>, a program promoted by SDCC M\u00e1laga, the Regional Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Affairs of the Government of Andalusia, and the Andaluc\u00eda Film Commission.<br\/>DUNA is <strong><strong>a special initiative <\/strong><\/strong>created to connect small and medium-sized enterprises based in Andalusia with leading production companies working on international projects. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the participating professionals, the following have been confirmed so far: Pedro \u201cTate\u201d Arr\u00e1ez, Location Manager Supervisor at A Film Location Company and member of LMGI (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>, <em>The Crown, Venom: The Last Journey<\/em>), \u00c1lvaro Iglesias, Founding Partner at Solworks (<em>Heartstopper S3, Devil\u2019s Advocate, and <\/em>clients such as F1 and Nike), Juan Jim\u00e9nez, Production Director at Calle Cruzada (<em>Kill Jackie<\/em>, <em>Night and Day<\/em>, and <em>The Kingdom of Heaven<\/em>), Rafael L\u00f3pez Manzanara (<em>Superl\u00f3pez<\/em>, <em>Money Heist<\/em>, <em>Elite<\/em>), and Dani Ojeda (advertisements for <em>LVMH, Adidas, and Budweiser<\/em>). DUNA <strong>will coordinate meetings between them and representatives of SMEs during the convention, facilitating <\/strong>the creation of business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the creative industries.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Eligibility Requirements and Conditions for Participation in DUNA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be an SME based in Andalusia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in an activity related to the audiovisual or tourism sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be available to participate in meetings between October 1 and 4, 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please complete a formal application using <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegocomicconmalaga.com\/en\/application-form-duna\/\">this form<\/a> by Tuesday, July 28, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SDCC M\u00e1laga is a hub for Europe\u2019s creative industries<\/strong>, bringing together fans, creators, studios, publishers, and companies from across the entertainment sector, including film, television, comics, video games, and animation.<strong> It is this commitment to fostering connections and creating opportunities for collaboration that led to the creation of DUNA<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program was presented last May at the March\u00e9 du Film in Cannes, France, one of the most important film markets in the world.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acting Minister for Tourism and Foreign Affairs of Andalusia, Arturo Bernal, stated that this initiative \u201cturns the celebration of San Diego Comic-Con M\u00e1laga into a genuine business-generation platform for Andalusian companies.\u201d<br\/>\u201cProfessionals involved in international productions will find in Andalusia not only unique filming locations, but also talent, technical expertise, and audiovisual companies with the capacity to integrate into projects with global reach,\u201d he emphasized. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bernal also highlighted the tourism impact generated by audiovisual productions in the region, noting that they \u201ccreate a chain of opportunities for accommodation, transportation, hospitality, specialized services, and experiences linked to Andalusia\u2019s tourism offering.\u201d<br\/><br\/>He added that the initiative \u201cwill enable direct connections between production companies and a business ecosystem capable of meeting their operational needs while also showcasing Andalusia through unique locations that can become part of new audiovisual narratives.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The fan experience at the center<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">San Diego Comic-Con M\u00e1laga will maintain its attendance capacity of 90,000 visitors (22,500 per day) while significantly expanding both its footprint and programming, including the addition of a new 9,000-square-meter hall to its Exhibitor Hall and an expanded Artists\u2019 Alley. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event is co-funded by the Andalusia ERDF Programme 2021\u20132027 and the Regional Government of Andalusia.
