San <\/strong>Diego Comic-Con M\u00e1laga held its highly anticipated <strong>Panel Zero<\/strong> today, an event during which it shared major announcements about the 2026 edition with the fan community. During the livestream, hosted by <strong>Cristinini alongside <\/strong>CEO Fernando Piquer and featuring artist <strong>Jorge Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> as a special guest, <strong>previews<\/strong> were <strong>revealed regarding the program, the new layout for the second edition, and the highly anticipated first poster<\/strong>, reaffirming the convention\u2019s commitment to sharing these updates with fans ahead of time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A venue with new spaces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most notable announcements from Panel Cero was the unveiling\u2014several months in advance\u2014of the official venue, which will maintain its capacity of 90,000 attendees (22,500 per day).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fernando Piquer<\/strong>, director of SDCC M\u00e1laga 2026, stated: \u201cThe venue map shows the expansion of the convention for its second edition. It has been designed to <strong>include new spaces<\/strong>,<strong> optimize routes, and facilitate movement throughout the venue\u2014which spans more than 90,000 m\u00b2<\/strong>\u2014thereby enhancing the attendees\u2019 experience. We\u2019re very excited to be able to share this first look with our fans.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Five aspects stand out among the main changes in the venue\u2019s new layout. First, the expansion of the exhibition area, which will now feature two large spaces: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Exhibitor Hall Town<\/strong>, located inside FYCMA and continuing the exhibition space from the previous edition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exhibitor Hall Garden<\/strong>, a new indoor, fully equipped pavilion located in the Village area, outside the Exhibition and Convention Center, covering more than 8,800 square meters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both exhibition spaces will also feature Sit&#038;Play areas where visitors can enjoy, among other things, new board games before their official release. Second, <strong>Artists\u2019 Alley will <\/strong>also <strong>be <\/strong>located inside the Exhibitor Hall Garden tent. There, attendees will find the third new feature: they\u2019ll be able to explore <strong>more than 90 booths<\/strong> by national and international artists\u2014nearly double last year\u2019s number\u2014to discover original illustrations, purchase prints, and meet the artists in person.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this new edition, SDCC M\u00e1laga 2026 will continue to feature two auditoriums and Hall M, and, as a new addition, <strong>will build an additional auditorium from scratch<\/strong>, located near the Exhibitor Hall Town. These twenty-five new names join the more than 30 internationally renowned names announced throughout the spring, bringing the lineup to <strong>over 50 special guests\u2014a number that <\/strong>continues to grow. The new additions, by category, are:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Movie and TV Highlights<\/em><\/strong>: Five of the stars of the unforgettable <em>Starship Troopers <\/em> saga <em>( <\/em> <strong>Casper Van Dien, Denise Richards, Dina Meyer, Michael Ironside, and <\/strong> <strong> Jake Busey<\/strong>), <strong>Natasha Liu Bordizzo<\/strong> ( <em>*The Greatest Showman*<\/em>), <strong>Dan Fogler<\/strong> ( <em>*The Walking Dead*<\/em>), <strong>Denise Gough<\/strong> ( <em>*Star Wars: Andor*<\/em>), <strong>Christopher Lambert<\/strong> ( <em>*Highlander*<\/em>), <strong>Kevin Sussman<\/strong> ( <em>*The Big Bang Theory*<\/em>),         <strong>Karl Urban<\/strong> (<em>The Boys<\/em>, <em>The Lord of the Rings<\/em>) and <strong>Deborah Ann Woll<\/strong> (<em>Daredevil<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Featured Video Games and Role-Playing Games<\/em><\/strong>: The founding father of video games that have marked a turning point in history will attend San Diego Comic-Con M\u00e1laga for all four days. He is <strong>Dave Jones<\/strong>, creator of the classic <em>*Lemmings* and <\/em>the acclaimed <em>*Grand Theft Auto*<\/em> (<em>GTA<\/em>). <strong>Jeremy Crawford, designer <\/strong>of iconic role-playing games such as <em>*Dungeons &#038; Dragons*<\/em>, will also be visiting San Diego Comic-Con M\u00e1laga from October 1 to 4.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Featured Manga<\/em><\/strong>: Director and screenwriter <strong>Whin\u2019ichiro Watanabe<\/strong> (<em>Cowboy Bebop<\/em>, <em>Samurai Champloo<\/em>) will be in attendance on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3. <strong>Yoshihiro Ueda<\/strong>, director of <em>Dragon Ball, and <\/em> <strong>Akira Yamaoka<\/strong>, the composer of <em>Silent Hill<\/em>, will also visit the convention on Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Comic Highlights<\/em><\/strong>: <strong>Carmen Carnero<\/strong> ( <em>Captain America<\/em>), <strong>Chris Condon<\/strong> ( <em>Ultimate Wolverine<\/em>), <strong>Jorge Jim\u00e9nez ( <\/strong> <em>Batman<\/em>), <strong>Pepe Larraz<\/strong> ( <em>The X-Dynasty<\/em>), <strong>\u00c1lvaro Mart\u00ednez Bueno<\/strong> (     <em>Justice League Dark<\/em>), <strong>Michael Golden<\/strong> (<em>Doctor Strange<\/em>), <strong>Michael Walsh<\/strong> (<em>Comeback<\/em>). All of them will be stopping by Artists\u2019 Alley; specifically, Larraz and Carnero will be there from Friday through Sunday, and Condon, Mart\u00ednez Bueno, Golden, and Walsh will be attending the convention every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These latest announcements from the comics division come on top of those recently announced: Stefano Caselli (<em>The Ultimate Black Panther<\/em>), Juanjo Guarnido (<em>Blacksad<\/em>), Philip Kennedy Johnson (<em>The Chronicles of Fellspyre<\/em>), Rick Leonardi (<em>The Uncanny X-Men<\/em>), Laia L\u00f3pez (<em>Royalty Witches<\/em>), David Messina (<em>Catwoman<\/em>), Pat Mills (<em>Charley\u2019s War<\/em>), and Dan Mora (<em>Justice League<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This universe took on a special significance at Panel Zero with the presence of one of the newly announced special guests: <strong>artist Jorge Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>. Today, he surprised fans at the convention. There were no previous designs for the characters on the poster, so it was fun to imagine them from scratch. The convention is supported by the 2021\u20132027 Feder Andaluc\u00eda Program and the Regional Government of Andalusia, and it reinforces its position as one of Europe\u2019s premier gathering places for fans and professionals in Popular Arts.
