
From Black Sails to One Piece, by way of Daredevil, See, and For All Mankind. The career of Lukas Ettlin spans some of the most acclaimed television productions of recent years and has established him as one of the industry’s most versatile creative figures.
A director, producer, and cinematographer, Ettlin has built an international career that has taken him to some of the most ambitious film and television productions of the modern era. Born in Switzerland and trained at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, he began his career as a cinematographer, collaborating on music videos and commercial campaigns for artists such as David Bowie, Taylor Swift, 50 Cent, and Usher.

His cinematography credits include films such as The Lincoln Lawyer, Battle: Los Angeles, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Maggie, and Fanboys, as well as additional photography work on Transformers. His visual talent earned recognition from Variety, which named him one of its “10 Cinematographers to Watch.”
In 2012, he began a new chapter as a television director and producer. Since then, he has contributed to some of the most significant television productions of the last decade, including Black Sails, where he served as a producer-director, as well as series such as See, The Old Man, Raised by Wolves, and For All Mankind.

His directing credits also include acclaimed series such as Counterpart, Daredevil, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Outer Banks, and, more recently, One Piece, one of the most successful live-action adaptations of recent years.
