Born in Tenerife and raised between British and Lebanese influences, actor, writer, and playwright Taz Skylar has become one of Spain’s fastest-rising international stars thanks to a career as unconventional as his own path into acting.

His journey into the profession was almost accidental. While waiting for another opportunity to apply to the British Army, he developed an interest in writing and acting. What began as a temporary pursuit soon became a profession and, within just a few years, an international career.

His early work came in the United Kingdom, where he appeared in a variety of film and television productions, while also writing and directing the short film Multi-Facial. In 2019, he made his feature film debut in The Kill Team, starring alongside Alexander Skarsgård in the adaptation of the Tribeca Film Festival award-winning documentary of the same name.

His work as a writer also took him to the stage with Warheads, a play he wrote and starred in at London’s Park Theatre, which later became part of a production that received an Olivier Award in 2020.

He went on to appear in productions including Agatha Raisin, The Lazarus Project, The Deal, Boiling Point, and Gassed Up, steadily establishing himself within the British entertainment industry.

His international breakthrough came in 2023 with One Piece, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga. His portrayal of Sanji, the Straw Hat Pirates’ cook, won over both newcomers and longtime fans of the original series, quickly making him one of the show’s most beloved characters.

For Spanish audiences, his performance included a particularly appreciated detail: Taz himself provided Sanji’s Spanish-language voice, bringing his distinctive Canary Islands accent to the dubbed version.

Most recently, audiences have seen him in the latest season of One Piece and on the big screen in Cleaner, alongside Clive Owen, further confirming an international career that continues to grow with every new project.

At San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026, you’ll have the opportunity to meet one of Spain’s most exciting international actors and the performer who brought one of the One Piece universe’s most beloved characters to life.
