Málaga, October 3, 2026. The third day of San Diego Comic-Con® Málaga 2026 has been defined by one word: anticipation. From the moment the doors opened, fans began filling every corner of the convention. A morning concert by Destripando la Historia kicked off a day packed with excitement in Hall M, where fans seemed to be warming up their voices for an afternoon spent cheering at full volume as Disney x Hall M unveiled surprise after surprise before their eyes. The day was capped off with a stage overflowing with fantasy, thanks to the creativity of the contestants in the BBVA Cosplay Contest 2026.
DISNEY DELIVERS FOR THE FANS
During its panel, Disney offered a preview of upcoming releases including Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Television’s VisionQuest and 20th Century Studios’ Whalefall, as well as exclusive clips from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hexed, 20th Century Studios’ Ice Age: Boiling Point, and Disney and Pixar’s Gatto (featuring the voice of Mark Ruffalo). Paul Bettany was joined by surprise appearances from Anthony Mackie, David Harbour, Josh Brolin and Austin Abrams, as well as director, co-writer and producer Brian Duffield.
On the Hall M stage, Sam Wilson/Captain America, Alexei/Red Guardian and M’Baku, played by Mackie, Harbour and Winston Duke, joined journalist Ali Plumb to share details about the highly anticipated film with an excited audience, before the screening of a special presentation edited exclusively for the occasion. Fans were also treated to an early reveal of the film’s release date: Thursday, December 17 in Spain, with tickets going on sale October 6.
THE HOBBITS COME FACE TO FACE WITH THEIR FANS
Another of the day’s most heartwarming moments came courtesy of Elijah Wood and Sean Astin, who received a warm welcome upon arriving at the convention, as fans waited at Meet the Artist to have posters, figures and even pieces of armor signed.
John Rhys-Davies joined them later in the day, rounding out an especially exciting Saturday for fans of The Lord of the Rings, who had the chance to come face to face with three of the saga’s most beloved characters: Frodo, Sam and Gimli.
FROM HIGHLANDER TO MACGYVER: TWO LEGENDS IN MÁLAGA
Christopher Lambert and Richard Dean Anderson each took part in solo panels, offering a unique opportunity to hear from two screen legends. Asked what he would do if he really were immortal, Lambert admitted that he would like to discover what the world will be like a hundred years from now and find out “if we are happy.”
Richard Dean Anderson, the unforgettable MacGyver, showcased his trademark natural charm and sense of humor, keeping the audience laughing throughout while attempting to beat the Málaga heat with a hand fan.
DAVE JONES HONORED BY THE IRIS GAMES AWARDS
Video games also had one of their biggest moments of the day with Dave Jones, a key figure in the industry and one of the creators of Grand Theft Auto. Jones met with José Antonio Nieto, the Andalusian Regional Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development and Public Administration, and received an honorary recognition from the Iris Games Awards of the Television and Audiovisual Arts and Sciences Academy.
The Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, and Comic-Con International President Robin Donlan and Chief Communications and Strategy Officer David Glanzer attended the presentation. The SDCC leadership team traveled to Málaga to experience in person the second edition of a convention that, in 2025, ventured outside the United States for the first time.
THE WOMEN WHO CREATE THE SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE
San Diego Comic-Con Málaga brought together three women with outstanding international careers in the visual effects industry: Carolina Jiménez, Myriam S. Castillo and Virginie Bourdin, whose work is connected to productions including The Hobbit, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, Harry Potter and X-Men.
They agreed that theirs is a profession in which, paradoxically, success often means the audience never notices the effect at all. “When it’s done well, nobody says anything because it’s simply taken for granted,” they explained.
THE VOICES OF OUR LIVES
The “Show Doblajil” also brought together some of Spain’s finest dubbing voices: Juan Antonio Bernal, Mar Bordallo, Miguel Ángel Jenner, José Posada, Luis Posada, Claudio Serrano, Sergio Zamora and Nuria Mediavilla. As the Spanish voices of such iconic actors as Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, they drew cheers and applause from the audience while reflecting on how fortunate they feel to work in their profession. “Every day at work is an adventure. You never get bored,” Jenner said.
The performers even took on an original script in which some of their most iconic characters, including Daffy Duck, Pumbaa, Fiona, Jack Sparrow and Batman, talked to one another about attending San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026. Fans described themselves as incredibly fortunate to be in the presence of what they repeatedly called “the voices of our lives.”
K-POP, ROLE-PLAYING AND COSPLAY INTO THE NIGHT
The day once again showcased the wide variety of worlds that coexist within San Diego Comic-Con Málaga. Jeremy Crawford and Deborah Ann Woll explored the power of role-playing games to create stories and communities, while K-ZONE once again became a meeting point for dozens of young fans of dance and K-pop culture with its K-dance competition.
The BBVA Cosplay Contest San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026 provided the fireworks for Saturday, October 3. Hall M welcomed an international jury comprising Kamui Cosplay, Ayuru Cosplay, Sabaku Cosplay and Like Linda, the 2025 winner, to select Europe’s best cosplayer from more than thirty contestants. The winners included:
Best in Show: Hermione Cosplay
