Chris Condon

29/07/2026

That Texas Blood, Ultimate Wolverine, Green Arrow, and The Enfield Gang Massacre all have one thing in common: they bear the unmistakable signature of Chris Condon, one of the most exciting new voices to emerge in American comics in recent years.

A writer specializing in crime fiction, westerns, and stories filled with rich atmosphere and complex characters, Condon has earned the attention of readers and publishers alike through a storytelling style defined by mounting tension, deliberate pacing, and an exceptional ability to create worlds that are as compelling as they are unsettling.

His name is closely associated with That Texas Blood, the acclaimed Image Comics series created alongside artist Jacob Phillips. Set in West Texas, the series has become one of the most celebrated independent comics of recent years, praised for its masterful blend of noir, crime drama, and its nuanced portrayal of contemporary rural America.

That same universe continued to expand with The Enfield Gang Massacre, a nineteenth-century western that deepened the mythology of the series and firmly established Condon as one of the genre’s most compelling writers.

His bibliography also includes titles such as News from the Fallout and Of This Earth, as well as stories for Creepshow, Oni Press’s revival of the classic EC Comics tradition, Crypt of Shadows, Blue Book: 1947, Harley Quinn: Black, White & Redder, and the legendary British anthology 2000 AD.

In recent years, he has also made the leap to the major superhero publishers, writing Green Arrow for DC Comics and, more recently, Ultimate Wolverine for Marvel Comics, bringing his distinctive voice and storytelling sensibility to some of the medium’s most iconic characters.

His rise has been both rapid and remarkable, culminating recently in an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics, where he will continue developing new projects in the years ahead.

At San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026, you’ll have the opportunity to meet one of the most promising writers in contemporary American comics and one of the standout voices of a new generation of creators shaping the future of the industry.
