With The Nice House on the Lake, Álvaro Martínez Bueno established himself as one of the defining names in contemporary American comics and the co-creator of one of the most acclaimed and talked-about series of recent years.

Created alongside James Tynion IV for DC’s Black Label imprint, the series won the Eisner Award and received recognition at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, cementing Martínez Bueno’s reputation as one of the leading artists in today’s comics industry. He is currently drawing its sequel, The Nice House by the Sea.

An exclusive DC Comics artist for several years, the Cantabria-born illustrator has developed a distinctive style defined by intricate page layouts, extraordinary attention to detail, and a remarkable ability to convey emotion through staging and character expression.
