Update: Michael Rooker will not be able to join us at SDCC Málaga 2026 due to prior commitments that conflict with our convention dates. We hope to welcome him in the future.
Intense, unpredictable, and with a screen presence that commands attention from the very first second. Michael Rooker is joining San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026 as a special guest, bringing with him a career built on characters that leave no one indifferent.
Best known worldwide for his role as Yondu Udonta in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga, Rooker turned this space outlaw into one of the most memorable characters in the Marvel universe. Beneath the blue skin and the deadly arrow, he created a layered figure that ultimately won over audiences.
He also left a lasting mark as Merle Dixon in The Walking Dead, a character as brutal as he was compelling, perfectly embodying his specialty, bringing morally complex figures to life, characters who don’t aim to be liked, yet somehow are.
From his striking debut in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Rooker made it clear that his career would follow unconventional paths. From there, he went on to appear in films such as Mississippi Burning, JFK, Cliffhanger, and Tombstone, building a filmography that is as solid as it is diverse.
Over the years, he has also developed a close collaboration with director James Gunn, appearing in projects such as Slither, Super, The Belko Experiment, and The Suicide Squad, as well as being part of the world of Peacemaker.
His talent has also extended to television and video games, where he has lent his voice to characters in franchises such as Call of Duty, proving a versatility that goes far beyond traditional acting.
With a career defined by intensity, risk, and a commanding personality, Michael Rooker is one of those actors who turn every appearance into something hard to forget.
He will be attending San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026 on October 1 and 2, participating in various activities such as panels and autograph sessions. During the event, he will also be joined by Sean Gunn, offering fans a very special opportunity to reconnect with two of the most beloved faces from *Guardians of the Galaxy*.
