- The initiative Developing Universal Narratives from Andalusia (DUNA) will connect in person local audiovisual and tourism SMEs with top-tier production companies
CANNES, May 19, 2026 – San Diego Comic-Con® Málaga has participated for the first time in the Marché du Film in Cannes (France), one of the most important film markets in the world, where it has presented Developing Universal Narratives from Andalusia (DUNA), a special initiative promoted by SDCC Málaga, the Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Andalusia of the Junta de Andalucía and Andalucía Film Commission.
SDCC Málaga is the meeting point of the European creative industries and, as such, brings together fans, creators, studios, publishers and companies in the entertainment sector around film, series, comics, video games and animation, among others. It is precisely this vocation of meeting and connection that has led to the creation of the Developing Universal Narratives from Andalusia (DUNA) program . DUNA facilitates the connection between professionals and audiovisual and tourism companies that contribute to the growth of creative industries.
With the aim of generating business opportunities, DUNA will coordinate meetings during the convention between top-tier production companies with international exposure and Andalusian SMEs linked to the industry and whose services influence its development. It will be next June when SDCC Málaga and Andalucía Film Commission will open registration for Andalusian SMEs interested in participating in this B2B action.
The acting Minister of Tourism and Foreign Andalusia, Arturo Bernal, has valued that SDCC Málaga “is a unique platform for visibility, with the ability to promote the creative, audiovisual and tourism industry in the community and contribute to the Andalusian talent is also a letter of introduction to the destination”. In this regard, he stressed the opportunity for SMEs in the region to present projects and establish possible avenues of collaboration “in a sector with a clear contribution to the revitalization, diversification and generation of wealth and employment in the community”.
In turn, DUNA will allow production companies to learn more about Andalusia as a strategic destination for the audiovisual industry. Through these meetings, they will be able to explore its nooks and crannies, possibilities and Andalusian talent in this sector that has historically made possible memorable titles such as Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Game of Thrones, Wonder Woman 1984, Warrior Nun, The Crown or The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, among many others.
